Me, talking about my music...
This is inspired by several things in my life. First, I spent almost a year living on the street in my mid-thirties. This was totally self-imposed; I was in an emotional and confusing funk. I was doing my best to separate myself from the society I couldn't really do without.

I visited New Orleans one time and spent part of the day sitting on the curb in Jackson Square, and with my guitar case open in front of me, I played for tips.
A romantic, reverent and honorable gig for anyone that knows of the greats that've sat on that square and played in the past.

I've traveled to New Orleans several times in my life and enjoyed every part of the city I experienced. But, especially the French Quarter, seemed to me like a carnaval or midway. I had the thought of how depressing it must be in New Orleans when it rains, like it raining at a Fair or Carnaval can be a real drag. d
Yes, I realize that rain in New Orleans is no more depressing than rain in any other city. New Orleans In the Rain just sounds depressing to me. Mood means a lot when your writing a song.

This song was chosen to be included on a Texas Singer/Songwriter Compilation CD entitled "Moments Of Grace" alongside such songwriting greats as Sarah Hickman (wrote the title song) and Billy Joe Shaver.

Playing saxopnone here is my good friend Jay Wilson.
