I think I
just met Zarathustra
The boy looked dead on his feet
I gave him all my spare change
And he staggered on down the street
Spoke of the
mother of invention
Is a bitch that won’t let go
Bang until your back is gone
But she still wants more
Do you still believe
In the law of gravity?
Let things fall together
We’ll see what we shall see
And all the hellhounds of the wasteland
Are breathin’ hot down on your heel
No need to ask for whom Wichita Falls
Wichita Falls for thee
Wichita Falls for thee
Wichita Falls
I just had lunch with Great Caesar's Ghost
Man that was cool
He said listen up Jack you better
watch
your back ‘cause they’ll stab you
with the truth
And the Brothers
Grimm were all a grin
They’d seen how this play ends
In the last act its just a fact Jack
The spinnin’ wheel spins
Do you still
believe
In the law of gravity?
Let things fall together
We’ll see what we shall see
And all the hellhounds of the wasteland
Are breathin’ hot down on your heel
No need to ask for whom Wichita Falls
Wichita Falls for thee
Wichita Falls for thee
Wichita Falls
You’re sick and tired of being sick and tired
But its all you know
So you jump face first off a West Texas tower
And gravity brings you home
I think I
just passed Zarathustra
He was hurrying down the street
His bags were packed, he aint coming back
He said, “This aint no place for me.”
Do you still believe
In the law of gravity?
Let things fall together
We’ll see what we shall see
And all the hellhounds of the wasteland
Are rippin’ flesh off of your heel
No need to ask for whom Wichita Falls
Wichita Falls for thee
Wichita Falls for thee
Wichita Falls
STEP RIGHT
UP

The refugees step off the boat
Lady Liberty lights their way
This Country's full of thieves and pitch-men
It's another busy day
Their faces lined with patience
Their eyes too wide to see
They've grown so weak from praying
They lack the strength to get off their knees
So now you're an American
Grab-a-hold of the American dream
Just remember big brother's still watching
Just tryin' to do the Christian thing
Chorus:
Step right up, this is America
The land of the free
We'll put the fear of God in you
Then you'll believe
How many times must we say "I love you"?
How much time can we throw away?
How many lies can we live in a lifetime?
Was Santa Clause born on Christmas day?
Oh God, I'm having a nightmare
Wake me up and let me lean on you
Walk with me and never leave me alone
By myself I might sing the blues
Hey, I'm an American
Jack with me and I'll blow you away
Don't ask me so many questions
Just tell me when I get paid
Chorus:
I'm so sick
of these fools and pretenders
Their lives held together with
The money they've made
When death reaches out to tap on their shoulder
They swear to God that they've been saved
There is no bridge across the ocean
No stairway to the sky
So if you want to touch the heavens
Buddy you'd better jump real high
Buddy you'd better jump real high
Baby you'd better learn to fly
Chorus:
MAGIC THEATER
Copyright © by Rick Yost
Oh, oh Pablo
Take me through your Magic Theater
And show me the things I can't see
My life has been so dark for so long
Show me how bright it can be
I woke up last night
In the middle of a dream
The more I tried to forget
The clearer it seemed
I was standing on a dark street
In the older part of town
The cold wind cut through me
And the rain was coming down
I stood before a doorway
Under a neon-sign's hum
It said For Madmen Only
Entrance not for everyone
Inside I met a Latin man
Pablo was his name
He said I know who you are
And I know why you came
Please, step into my Magic Theater
And with your life I will set the stage
In this one-man play
You will act out all the scenes
You'll speak all the lines
You'll be the lion in the cage
Oh, oh Pablo
Play for me a jazzy little tune
Something to take me from this
Suicidal gloom
Oh, oh Pablo
Please don't send me home to my room
To my razor, revolver and the
Opium I'm due
He led me down a hallway
Lined with a thousand doors
Behind each one a different part
Of my life to explore
I was shown things I'd forgotten
Some I wanted to forget
What I thought were old man's eyes
Have seen what hasn't happened yet
I met again the loves I'd lost
And those that I had kissed
Then my wasted youth struck me down
With a heavy velvet fist
Oh, oh Pablo
Send to me Maria
That tasty little thing taught me to kiss
Oh, oh Pablo,
Send her to the poet in my dreams
To remind me of all the loves I've missed
I will never forget the Magic Theater
Oh Maria, oh what a dream
How fortunate for me to have met
Pablo when I did
Timing is more than everything
The reward to an angel is
The height from which it sees
All the wingless wonders
That crawl upon thier knees
From this day forward
As I walk this winding path
As senseless as this life may seem
I will learn to live and laugh
Learn to live and laugh
Oh, oh Pablo
Take me through your Magic Theater
And show me the things I can't see
Oh, oh Pablo
My life has been so dark for so long
Show me how bright it can be
Oh, oh Pablo
Send to me Maria
That tasty castenet taught me to kiss
Oh, oh Pablo,
Send her to the poet in my dreams
To remind me of all the loves I've missed.
NEW ORLEANS
IN THE RAIN
Copyright © by Rick Yost
You tell yourself
that you don't belong here
You try to keep warm and ignore the pain
You used to be somebody
And it's driving you insane, it feels like...
New Orleans in the rain.
Drivers lock their doors as you walk by
Headed crosstown through the mist
Everything you own is on your back
And her number's crumpled in your fist
There's a funeral wailin' down on
Bourbon Street and the sound of
A distant train, it feels like...
New Orleans in the rain.
And the cop says "Move along,
We don't need your kind 'round here."
I said "What kind is that,
Am I the kind that you fear?"
I used to have money,
Used to have a life
But now that's all changed
It feels like...
New Orleans in the rain.
You know a free man
Will never kiss your ass
He'll just pack right up and move
He's un-encumbered by the weight
Of having, something to prove
She never knew it was you
Who called that night,
'cause you didn't have the guts to say
It feels like...
New Orleans in the rain.
Your life was fine
But now you're doin' time
In a card-board box of pain
That feels like...
New Orleans in the rain
Is
this nightmare real
Or am I a crazy old fool?
Should I live how I feel?
Or am I breaking the rules?
I’ll
soon become the beast
That hides inside of me
Its had a taste of blood
And it must never be free
Chorus
So lock me in a room
And never let me out
No matter how I scream
No matter what I shout
Beware of the monster
The monster from inside
It feeds on
the truth
And it will kill all your lies
You can’t escape the beast
It will haunt you till you die
I change before
your eyes
As I sing this song
My fangs grow sharp
And my claws grow long
Chorus
SNOWMAN
Copyright © by Rick Yost
Miles away in the distance
A lonesome train whistle screams
It beacons me to leave you
Like I've done in my dreams
But I'm addicted to my addictions
Your love and my pain
Between your touch
And the fire in your eyes woman
You're driving me insane
Chorus:
Now I feel the warmth of your heart
But I'm like a snowman in the Sun
Slowly melting away
Encased in isolation
What I see is all I know
When my world is turned upside down
It always snows
The taste of your body
Steady-drips on my brain
Like some ancient torture
Designed for private pain
Will I ever see the moon again
Will I ever feel the rain
Will I ever hold you again baby
Will you ever melt my pain
Chorus:
Miles away
in the distance
A lonesome trainwhistle screams
I know I'll never leave you
No matte what I dream
Some times my world settles down
The snow comes to an end
But-cha-know
Something will remind me of you
And shake it up again and again
Chorus:
